释义	桑雉 sāng zhì上古商帝太戊時，祥桑朝生而暮大如拱，太戊懼，大臣伊陟勸太戊修德而祥桑枯死。殷帝武丁時，雉登鼎耳而鳴，武丁懼，賢臣祖己勸武丁修政行德，天下鹹歡，殷道復興。事見《書．高宗肜日》、《史記．殷本紀》。後因用桑雉爲帝王修德國以復興的典實。漢魯恭字仲康爲中牟令，行德政。上司遣使察訪，恭與來使行至田間，坐桑下小憩，有雉停身旁。旁有兒童。使曰:兒何不捕之?兒曰:雉方將雛。使矍然而起，盛讚魯恭化及鳥獸，使豎子有仁心。事見《後漢書·魯恭傳》。後因以桑雉爲施行仁政，普及教化的典實。
