释义	八號分機 bā hào fēn jī刑事警察局犯罪侦防管制中心通报系统的代称。最初是直接透过警察电讯所的长途电话台，以有线及无线电波，与全省二十六个警察机关连络中心通话。由于这个分机编在第八号，遂称为「八号分机」。其功能在传达犯罪情报，以便采取防治措施，迅速遏阻犯罪及协调各警局间的调度情形，因此成为警方犯罪通报系统的专有名词。现今八号分机的通报系统包括有线电话通报、无线电话通报系统、电子传真通报和ＳＣＡ调频广播附载频道专用广播通报。
