释义	五厄 wǔ è指书籍被焚毁的五次厄运。即：秦始皇下令焚书，坟籍扫地皆尽，此为第一厄；王莽末年，长安兵起，宫室图书，并从焚烬，此为第二厄；汉献帝移都时，吏民扰乱，图书缣帛，皆取为帷囊，此为第三厄；刘曜、石勒覆灭京华，朝章国典，从而失坠，此为第四厄；周师入郢，梁·萧绎悉焚典籍于外城，此为第五厄。见⎣世间凡物未有聚而不散者，而书为甚。隋牛弘靖请开献书之路，极论废兴，述五厄之说，则书之厄也久矣。⎝《隋书•牛弘传》。
